Annual Parish Meeting,

Wednesday 29 May 2024, 6.30-8pm, Reed Village Hall

A NEW FORMAT FOR THE REED ANNUAL PARISH MEETING

Everyone in Reed and the surrounding area is invited to a new-style event on the evening of Wednesday 29 May from 6.30 until around 8.30pm. It will look very different from APMs of the past. There will be a complimentary drink on arrival, and BB Pizza have been booked to make a return visit to Reed, so you can buy a delicious pizza to enjoy during the event. (Advance orders: call or WhatsApp 07483 898113). The menu is available here. And tea and coffee will be available, thanks to the Village Hall. We have invited all the village societies within Reed to take space to illustrate their organisation. Everyone will be able to circulate and chat to friends and neighbours and learn about the many and various activities that take place in Reed. We want to make the evening a social and neighbourhood event with the minimum of formality. But there will be a welcome and perhaps some short presentations. These will not take place before 7.15pm. UPDATED GUEST LIST (as at 28 May) We now expect the following to be represented at the meeting: District and County Councillors - Martin Prescott, Fiona Hill Community Partnerships Officer - Becca Edwards Ward Freman Pool - Joanne Willett Friends of Reed Church / Reed Church - Liz Jakeman Reed School – Vicky Wittich Reed Readers – Gill Langley Pilates & Yoga – Jessie Skeggs Reed Village Hall – Alan Blower Reed Indoor Bowls – Marion McMeekin Reed Gardening Club - Sue Huggins Reed Tea Club - Hazel Hewitt Reed Cricket Club – Richard and Cilla Robertson Save the Cabinet - Caroline d’Ayala Community Police – Tom Woollard, Chris Brabrook and Hannah Moss Turney Trust – Robert Chambers Reed Choir, who will perform two short pieces around 7pm Naturally there will also be an opportunity to ask questions of the members of Reed Parish Council. This is a new approach to the annual parish meeting, focusing on what binds us together within the community and makes Reed such a great place in which to live. Note that the regular parish council meeting and the formal annual meeting of the parish council will take place on an earlier occasion. ..
