In March-April, Reed Parish Council conducted a survey of households to gauge views on the possible introduction of a 20 mph speed limit on residential roads in the village. This was on the basis that such a limit could be implemented without additional traffic-calming measures such as speed humps or street lighting. The survey has now closed.
79 valid responses were received out of 145 households in the parish (54%).To the question, “Do you support the reduction of the 30mph speed limits in Reed village to 20mph, subject to Hertfordshire County Council approval?”
•70 responded “yes” (89%)
•8 responded “no” (10%)
•1 responded “no opinion” (1%).
This equates to around 48% of all households in the village indicating support for the proposal.
Reed Parish Council will consider next steps in the light of these results.
