Reed Line Dancers
Reed Line Dancers meet every Monday
evening at the Village Hall. If you haven’t
tried line dancing, you haven’t lived!
Everyone is welcome, from semi-
professional to absolute beginners.
Reed Readers
A small friendly group who meet to discuss
books we have chosen to read. Nibbles
may be consumed and a glass of wine help
the comments along.

Indoor Bowls
The Reed Bowls Club meets every Tuesday
evening at 8pm for an evening of indoor
bowls in the Village Hall. Membership is £3
per year and the cost to play is £2 an
evening. The season runs from the first
Tuesday in September to the last Tuesday
in May. It is a great opportunity to get
together during the week for some light
exercise and to catch up. For more
information please contact Marion
McMeekin.
Reed Choir
Formed in the summer of 2014 to sing a
choral evensong to conclude a flower
festival at St Mary;’s Church, Reed Choir
now has over 30 members aged from 8 to
80, drawn not only from Reed but also from
other local villages.

Reed Cricket Club
Reed has hosted a Cricket Club since 1956.
The Cricket Club has met particular success
recently, winning the National Village Cup
in 2012, 2017 and again in 2019, making it
one of a select few clubs to have triumphed
in the competition three times. More
about Reed Cricket Club.
Reed Gardening Club
We meet every second Wednesday in the
Village Hall. Interesting speakers on all
aspects of gardening. Annual Show and a
plant sale. A must for all keen gardeners in
Reed and the surrounding towns and
villages. See the notice board for our next
event. Contact Hazel Hewett for more
information (07970 855904).
Reed Pudding Club
Not what you might think! When you come
to any of Reed’s events you will soon
discover Reed’s pudding club - a happy
band of (mostly) ladies who produce sweet
courses to die for.
Save the Cabinet Action Group
The Action Group was formed in 2016 to try
to prevent the last pub in Reed being
turned permanently into a house. As well
as leading local resistance to the current
planning applications, it arranges various
social and fundraising events.
More on the group’s website.
Friends of Reed Church
The Friends of Reed Church is a registered
charity and was set up in January 2005 to
raise money to help fund the cost of repairs
and maintenance of the church building at
Reed.
